The "Beach" is History

The Former Beach

For many of us, the "beach" between what was the women's quad and the gym is memorable real estate. We all knew that spring had arrived when that grassy slope was covered with classmates seeking to trade their pasty winter look for a sun-kissed golden glow. Alas, the "beach" is no more. Bulldozers have demolished the slope to make way for a new natatorium and an expanded Mitchell athletic center.

Still Performing ...

John Davidson and Classmates

While many of us are now retired, our classmate, John Davidson, is still performing. Alicia Bresee, Lynne Mavon Schwartz, and Emmy Hauser King recently caught his show at a Palm Beach, Florida Cabaret, along with his third grade teacher and the doctor who delivered him. Also in the audience was John's wife of 32 years, a daughter, son-in-law, and two grandchildren. John's youngest daughter, a new college grad, is headed to New York to get a start in the entertainment industry.

Share Your Story!

Some of us on the Reunion Planning Committee were close friends at Denison and have remained in contact for many years.  Others of us barely knew one another 50 years ago and, until recently, have not had much contact with classmates for many years.  But all of us can say without equivocation that getting reconnected over the last several months has been incredibly enjoyable and rewarding.  We've heard fascinating stories about other classmates adventures and accomplishments.  We've gained greater appreciation for just how exceptional Denison has become since we left Granville nearly 50 years ago.

You can join in the fun immediately by reading the life stories that some of us have already posted on this site.  Once you've logged in to this website, here's how to get to these tales.

Click on "Directory" in the navigation menu at the left-hand side of this page.  This will take you to a list of all living classmates.  Next, enter the last name or maiden name of a person of interest in the appropriate dialog box at the top of the list and press the "Apply" button.  This will produce a list of all classmates with that name.  Click on the name of interest and the website will display that person's biographical information including a write-up of "How I Got to Where I Am."  Among others, classmates who already have told their stories include Jim Thorne, Susie Wenger Helfrich, Larry Vroom, and Julie Hunsberger.
